ITT- Tech RN program

U.S.A. Michigan

as many of you know or may not know itt- tech canton campus has a new rn program. i am one of the thirty who got accepted into the program and so far so good. it has been a few minor snags but that is to be expected with something new. i had read in a former post that other people were having a hard time getting credits to transfer and things like that but i am happy to say that i did not have any of those problems. i am interested to see the nclex-rn pass rating for people in other states because we follow the same curriculum but all in all i am pretty happy with the program. one of the pro's of the program is the time it takes to get through and not having to spend time on a waiting list. it is also a compact program so if ur an adult coming back to school the pre-reqs are included in the program. the instructors have also been very warm and helpful which makes me alot more comfortable.the con's so far is the :eek:price  and the fact that your credits may not transfer to a major university but will transfer to somewhere like phoenix i've heard... it's all new but so far i am enjoying being apart of the first group! check out an info session... it may very well be for you!

Thanks. I believe the starting cost is about 50k although you can transfer in general ed credits that you have already taken that are required by the program and it lowers the cost significantly

I would love to know if you feel like the HESI review book suggested by ITT , was helpful for you in passing the entrance exam? How was the test in your opinion? I am scheduled to take mine tomorrow......thanks for any info!

I definitely think the HESI review book was very helpful! It was set up exactly like the test with the exception of some of the science. If you have taken AP before and Chem you should do just fine! I also loved how it lets you choose your own sections to complete. You don't have to go in any preset order. Good luck to you!

The best part of ITT is that there are no pre reqs and if you DO have them done, they most likely will transfer in! Check them out!

I am in the ITT program in Tulsa, getting ready to start my 6th quarter in a few weeks. Overall I have been satisfied with the program, I knew there would be kinks to work out because its a new program but I think they handle any problems in a speedy fashion and for the most part they are more than fair with the students. I can't wait to graduate though and am pondering testing out of psychology, I just wonder what their test out exam consists of, I know they are different than the general CLEP tests most community schools use.
