Miami Hospitals

U.S.A. Florida

Considering moving to Miami when I graduate with my RN in two years. Are there any good magnet hospitals in the area and what is the starting pay. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Specializes in CVICU.

Baptist is a magnet hospital. I did clinical there and it seemed like a nice place to work but on some floors their nurses are defintely moving. They did no open hiring for grads this year. Only people that got work there were people that got their scholarship or were nurse assistants or something. The lucky ones that had their foot in the door make 24 and change an hour.

Jackson is the big public hospital and they didnt hire anyone either and may have to let people go? University of Miami hospital used to be Cedars and has all sorts of problems cause when they took over Cedars it was a total train wreck. They are trying to turn the ship but its tuff. Pay there starts at 25.

I would not consider moving to Miami for employment at this point. You will most likely been unemployeed as a huge percent of people that did clinicals here and know the area couldnt get nursing jobs so its a bad time right now. Maybe it picks up next year.

i agree with the lady before me. Miami not so great right now but you could move to other parts of Florida (just as beautiful and warm) try not to come down here its packed as it is.
