MI RN license lapse

Published

Hi,

I am NEW to the site but I have a VERY MUCH NEEDED answer OR advice... I am currently disabled due to a work injury and I am afraid that I may have to "settle out my case" as I have been getting Workman's Comp for a little over 5 years. I previously lived in MI and was licensed there. However, when I was injured I thought my "Nursing days" were over and we re-located to TN. I now am planning on moving back to MI but I "thought" I would NEVER work again due to the fact that I have a lifetime disability from a brain injury so I did not transfer my license or pay my due's. I have had 3 brain surgeries and had a stroke during one of them that left me with "mild" right sided weakness but considerable short term memory problems. Anyway, can ANYONE tell me if I can still re-new my License? I am sure there will be a considerable fee and who knows what else but I may be "forced" to go back to work at some capacity. Don't get me wrong I would LOVE to go back to work.

So, if you know if and how I can achieve this, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know.

Thank you SO VERY much,

Mindy

Best bet would be to contact the MI board of nursing. Good luck - it sounds like you have been through a lot.
