MGH DENP 2021 Waitlist

Hi Everybody,

My name is Rebecca and I applied to the DENP program (PMHNP specialty) at MGHIHP before the February 1st deadline. On February 25th, I received an email saying that I had been waitlisted for the program. As anyone else who applied knows, they extended the deadline to April 1st (I did not know this until AFTER I had already applied by the original deadline). I was accepted to the MENP program at DePaul a couple weeks after I got the waitlist letter, for which I am so grateful because it was the only clear YES that I got. I am maintaining the mindset that I will be attending DePaul in June, even though deep down, I'm still praying to be taken off the waitlist for MGH. It's frustrating because they tell you that you could be taken from the waitlist as late as August, a week before the program actually starts. If I didn't have another option, and if I had anything to do this Summer, I would just wait. But it's just too risky to turn down DePaul in hopes of being taken off the waitlist for MGH. I wish they would at least tell us when the deposit deadline was for those who applied in April, or at least when their acceptance/rejection notices went out. I am just guessing that they will be hearing back soon based on how long it took for MGH to get back to me when I applied in February. That would mean that those who got in would probably have what, like, 3-4 weeks to pay their deposits? This is a lot of guessing, but it's my only choice because they don't extend any information to waitlisted students about their chances or any updates. If my estimates are at least reasonable, and if they really begin pulling students from the waitlist ASAP once someone has declined a space, then that would mean that some people could come off the waitlist as early as May. I'm still holding out in hopes that that will happen, even though I know my chances are slim. I just wanted to ask if there was anyone out there in the exact same situation with this school, specifically. It is really my absolute dream to go here and being on the waitlist is almost worse than having been rejected, simply because it puts me in the position of having to turn down a guaranteed opportunity just to stay on the waitlist, which I'm not brave enough to do. Anyone else on the MGHIHP DENP waitlist for 2021?
