I read a lot of the sticky information above but didnt really see any information that fit the situation. My brother in law just finished medical school in Mexico and is officially a doctor. He is really wanting to go ahead and come to the US and start working before he takes his USMLE to become a doctor over here.
Does anyone know if you can do that? MD to Texas Nurse? It is good pay until he can afford to take the USMLE prep course and tests ($10,000).
Thanks

Sorry, but he will not be able to do that directly. He is going to need to attend a full program in an approved school of nursing before he will be granted permission to test as an RN here in the US.
Going from med school to nursing school is quite different and there is no way that the MD training is accepted as training as an RN.
He is looking at a program of at least two years in length before he would be able to write the NCLEX-RN. That is why you are not seeing anything about it, it is not possible.
There are programs for the MD to RN that you will see here, but there is no state that will permit challenging the RN exam to get licensed here without completing an approved training program.
