Has anyone heard from Mercy for Summer 2009 admission?

I received my letter yesterday (1/14) and I got in. I'm so excited and ready for the challange. Best of luck!!

Congratulations! :yeah: I loved Mercy!! It's very hard, so be prepared but the instructors are wonderful. If you need anything or are confused, you have to meet with them b/c they are so helpful. They really want each student to succeed. Also try to stay on top of all the notes ( I do NOT miss those dang powerpoints) and keep them organized b/c you will need them all throughout school and for the NCLEX. My last piece of advice is to buy a digital recorder. It's not for everyone but it really helped me. There is so much information and ALL of it is important to understanding the concepts. Let me know if you have any questions. And congrats again!!!

Congrats cindyb I look forward to meeting you in May!

Thanks so much for all of the tips fitnessangel, I'm so excited to get started! Just one question for you- did you work while you were in school?

I worked the second, third, and fourth semester. I would not recommend it. My job was only on the weekends and I was able to study while I was there so it was actually perfect. But I had to be there really early (7am!) so I could never sleep in and then before you know it, it was time to start the week again. You really can't work during the week b/c your schedule will change every semester. Somedays you will have clinicals on mondays and the next semester on thursdays. Also the amount of hours you spend in clinicals increases with each semester (it will change from 1 day a week to 2 days). And forget the summer!!!! They try to cram 16 weeks material into 11 weeks so you are beyond busy. In the beginning, you will spend a good 6-8 hours the night before 'picking up your assignment,; which entails going to the hospital and copying the chart down basically and doing a write-up on it. It's harder than it sounds when you have no idea what you are reading! My advice would be to not work if you absolutely don't have to (which is the same thing the instructors will tell you). Those 5 semesters will fly by (although it won't seem like it when you are there:chuckle) and you really want to get the most out of the education they are giving you by devoting all of your time to it.

What score did you get on the NLN to be accepted to Mercy?

Thanks!

I believe they require the TEAS for admission, that's what I took.

Really, i had to take the PAX-PN entance exam to apply. How did the interview go, did you know from the get-go they would accept you?? What kind of questions did they ask??

Sorry for all the ? lol

Thank You! :typing
