Hello everyone! I am working on a project in my mental health class. I have to find important legislative acts that were passed in mental health nursing from 1882-1914. I have looked everywhere and cannot find this. I do not have access to a nursing school library at this time. Do any of you know where I can find this on-line? I have looked and looked. Thanks!

Google mental health legislation 18th and 19th century. See your local reference librarian for other ideas.

Well certainly a lot changed in that time. There should be a lot of info.
Check out this link............not sure if your stuff has to be strictly American legislation or not...

Try http://www.mdx.ac.uk/WWW/STUDY/Mhhtim.htm to start.
I would really suggest you make an appointment with a reference librarian to learn about how to do searches and find literature. It took me only a few seconds on google to find a number of sites with times lines and history of mental health. You are going to have to do many projects - even without access to a library there is lots online.
Oops - just saw that PsychRNinNY posted at the same time as me and the same link!
Thanks everyone! I also found several of the links you all listed and I was able to pull info. from them. Thanks very much for all the assistance!
Wherehastimegone... thanks. I have done numerous reports and worked as a Journalist in my past life so reports are nothing new to me. I happened to be an hour away from school and wanted to get a jump-start on the project. I did happen to find several of the sites you all listed and was able to use them.
Thanks to all! I appreciated it! Epona
