Memorial Hermann Nurse Residency Program Fall 2021 Start Date

Hi Everyone! 

I'm starting this thread for those applying to both Houston, TX Memorial Hermann (All Locations) and Memorial Hermann Children's for the Fall 2021 Graduate Nurse (GN) Cohort. This cohort will be the student nurses graduating in Spring/Summer 2021. 

Please leave any information you may have about applications, interviews, calls, etc. in the thread! Also please say the campus/specialty (ICU, Peds, MedSurg, L&D, etc.) your applying/interviewing for! ?

I was able to submit all my documents. The same place you submit your resume I just clicked the upload button again and I was able to submit 4 more documents. I submitted 5 documents total.

Yeah they didn't respond to me either yet, but I hope they do. I really wanted to add them, I just didn't understand where they wanted us to submit until it was too late.

I applied to Memorial City ICU and L&D.  Good luck!

MH responded to my email about transcripts and said that only the resume is required.  Anything else is just extra : )

Sooo relieved!

I just submitted. I am so nervous! I felt like I quadrupled checked everything yet still am afraid I missed something.

I work as a Nurse Extern at HCA Kingwood. I absolutely do NOT recommend.

Oh wow!? Do you think it’s just the kingwood location or HCA as a whole?

I definitely think its HCA as a whole. If you search "quit HCA" on allnurses you will see multiple threads about new grads breaking their 2 year commitment contract for various reasons. On my home unit we had two new grads start in February and by April they both quit. We are always understaffed and most nights there are no CNAs. This isn't just my unit either, a total of 15 ER nurses quit within the last 6 months. Thats why they're having these massive hiring events and hiring new grad on the spot... because they desperately need to replace all the nurses who are leaving. And they're shady too, if you want to work on a unit other than med/surg make sure its in your contract before you sign it because I've heard of a lot of people who think they're interviewing for ICU/IMU, but end up being placed in med/surg. Same exact thing happened to me. I interviewed for one unit and was placed on a completely different unit my first day. I asked my recruiter about it and I never heard back from her. This company really does not care you. I can't speak on Women's services and Pediatrics because that's not my area. This is what I have experienced at the Kingwood location only.

I messaged the careers FB page and they said I could email my transcript and LOR to their email so ya'll free to do that! it's NRP@memorialhermann.org
