Hello, everyone. I've been a CNA in an Indiana nursing home for nearly two years and love my job. I've registered for a qualified medication aide course. My concern is working full-time and handling the classwork part of the course for five weeks (class attendance M-W-F, 4-8PM). The textbook is 300 pages. About 200 medications are covered. It seems like such alot to read through and learn in five weeks! (And I'm totally exhausted when I get home from work at 3:30 PM.) I ask those of you who have taken such a course, about how many medications were you actually required to learn? Both generic and trade names? Did your instructor target just a few of the most important ones to learn, or cover them all? I appreciate your time and consideration so much.
