Hi everyone -
I'm just starting my first year of nursing school and am trying to wade my way through all of the medical terminology. Does anyone happen to know of a good website that shows you the medical shorthand - for example, qd, bid, s with a line over it... things like that.
Also, does any one know of a medical spell checker that you can hook up to microsoft word (I have a Mac) because it's driving me crazy when I write my careplans and every other word comes up as misspelled because they're not in the regular dictionary. And it would be nice to know if I've actually misspelled them or not. The program doesn't have to be free, just something that works well in word.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I believe I used a plugin from Taber's, but its been a while since I loaded it into my Microsoft Word. I LOVE it!
Removed link. I think I'm not allowed to insert commercial links. Just google medical spell checker word, you'll get tons!
Good luck!

One of my textbooks or my medical dictionary came with a CD that installed the medical words into Word's spellchecker. It was great. It even caught mispellings in medications. A real help when I made med cards.
