nursing school mom

Ok, so this is what I don't get: all the people who nearly failed first semester (theory in fundamentals) because they could not "critically think", are now breezing through med/surg exams. The tests are not nursing based questions, it's either you know it or you don't. There's no "eliminating". I mean, these people "seem so air-headed" you would be surprised. I am not saying that I'm an expert, but I just don't understand. I feel like I have come from Mars to Earth. Theory to Med/Surg is so abstract to me I don't know how to study. Please help!

Have you tried asking these classmates what they have done differently or what they are studying? The information changes each semester and some people process it differently.
