Hi everyone! I am a newly minted, proud medical-surgical nurse. I am curious if those with some experience under their belts have any recommendations for resources that would be helpful to a newbie on the job. I know that's kind of vague so more specifically, any good nursing associations I can join, etc.
I know Google is my friend but I just wanted to hear from actual nurses on what they have found helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Congratulations! I have found that I have learned much more since nursing school than I did while in nursing school. Outside of on the job learning, I have sought out opportunities for continued growth. I love the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses...excellent publications and great conferences. I also have bought a number of seminars from PESI healthcare, and Med-Ed is good as well. Find a journal to subscribe to...I have tried Nursing 2014 and Nursing Made Incredibly Easy. Best of luck...be patient with yourself as you grow into your new role.
Thank you so much! Your answer is exactly what I was looking for! Very helpful:yes:

Which med/surg seminar did you buy/attend from PESI? I am starting new job on med/surg floor and haven't been on floor since nursing school about little over year ago. Any advice and resources would be great to find out about.
