Hi everyone,
I have an interview for the VALOR opportunity at my local VA Medical Center. I specifically have an interview for the Med-Surg Unit. This opportunity will allow me to work one on one with a preceptor for 400 hours.
I'm still a nursing student, and they're only giving me a couple days to prepare for this interview. This will be my first "new grad" style interview.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can prepare? I was thinking of brushing up on my Med-Surg for the scenario questions.

Scenario questions???? I just had how will you respond to basic job skill questions. Like how to interact with other workers, how can you take direction......
These are important skills many people are lacking. Most people are teachable clinically, it's socially they want to know about.

Know your sepsis, MI, and stroke protocols, as well as all of the labs and specific mnemonics and medicines. Know how to prioritize and delegate as the nurse managers may give you 4+ patients and you have to choose which one to see and if you're smart enough to delegate.
