Hello All,
I'll be graduating with my FNP in December and I'd love to work in a Med Spa. I've been looking for jobs, but many require years of injection experience. I'm concerned that I will get over looked because I'll be a new grad and my background is in emergency medicine. What are some things I can do to make myself stand out?
Thank you!

Its more how you present yourself, and your cover letter. My cert is as a CNM, but I was hired into a medspa for my enthusiasm, and personality, basically. I did work in a cosmetics store when I was in my ADN (over 10 yrs ago) so I made sure to mention that. My former boss, the owner of a very successful chain of med spas told me "There are no specific qualifications for a med spa, no one graduates knowing how to do this. Its more important to be enthusiastic, passionate, with an artistic eye and an ability to sell things".

Hi Sunshine-momMSN,
I see that you are working at a medspa. I am an esthetician and an RN-BSN and I have been thinking about going back to school to become an NP. I am a L&D nurse and was thinking the CNM route but also wanted the option to be able to possibly work in a medspa environment. I didn't know that CNM's could work in the medspa environment. Can you do everything there that say a FNP could do? Thank you!

Hello, I was just wondering if medical spas usually offer health insurance to employees? Or other benefits like 401k?
