MDS Coder?

Hello fellow MDS coordinators, I have a question for all of you. Recently our billing/coding person quit at the CCRC that I work at. I have worked here approximately 7 years. We have 22 Medicare beds, 44 private pay. Our average length of stay in Medicare is 16 days, I stay very busy. I picked up the medical coding during her absence and until another biller/coder was hired. We have hired another person in the billing office however she has no medical or coding experience only billing. My administrator has approached me about continuing all the medical coding for the 66 health center beds. I am not necessarily opposed to that, I have a PRN employee in MDS which wants part time and health insurance and I think that we could offer enough hours if I continue the coding. My administrator did tell me that he has posed the question to other administrators and was told that all of their MDS coordinators do the medical coding. I was not aware that all MDS coordinators do the medical coding. I am not sure if they are talking about "coding" the MDS or actually medical coding. I also have had no training on coding, I am using a great website to code and it seems to be working but I would like some information about classes for coding that are geared more toward MDS coordinators and medicare part A. I would like to share this information with my administrator.
