So I interviewed today for a p/t position (24hrs/week) for nurse in memory care unit at local LTC facility. The position involves assisting on the floor (15 residents in MCU), entering new physican orders, performing the MDS assessments, etc. I was told an RN would actually complete the MDS but I would be performing the assessment portion. I worked at this same facility about 5 years ago as a floor nurse and I enjoyed it but am apprehensive about the MDS assessment. Can you advise on how the assessment portion is completed, difficulty in the task, how long they take and how often to be done???
TIA!!!

I remember lots of mouse clicking. It's not bad, but it's not "real" nursing, IMHO. Mostly desk work.
