Hello. It there anyone out there taking RN bridge online at MDC? If so have you received your syllabus? Thanks in advance!

I applied for the transition online program for fall '16. I know you just started the semester but was wondering if you could give a quick opinion on how it's going. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

The semester is going well so far. It's a lot of work but it's doable. I'm still able to work a full time job complete my assignments and go to clinicals. My best advice is to be organized and log on atleast 3 times a day because the professor will send important messages.

It sounds similar to how online pre reqs were. Lots of reading/studying with weekly assignments. Are you renting/buying or using online books? I keep hearing about rolling bags for clinicals. Is it worth it or necessary? Thanks again for your info.

I borrowed most of my books from a friend who did her RN. It's best to rent as many books as you can because they are expensive. As far as rolling book bags. No one in my class have one. There is really limited space to put your personal items when you go to clinicals.

Cool. Renting does save money. I also heard some clinicals require you to go the the hospital the day before the actual scheduled rotation in order to be assigned a patient. Have you had this happen yet and how have clinicals been so far? Lots of paperwork?

This has not happened to us. The patients are usually discharged the next day so that would be pointless. Clinicals are going smooth. We have care plans but that's about as far as paperwork.

I see you posted that from Feb was wondering how the program going so far? considering the online bridge from MDC as an option

The program is going well. It's not easy but if you apply yourself you can do it

How many days you physically go the school and what are the hours?

how many clinical days?

haw are the professors are they supportive? I know it's not easy but do they offer any resources.

A little late coming into this but did you graduate from the program?! Considering starting but had a few questions and wanted to know the program was a good one since I was previously at broward college and had a terrible experience!

Everyone experience is different. My experience wasn't the greatest as far as last minute schedule changing and clinicals but I had awesome professors. At the end it was all worth it. I completed the program in December 2016

Of course, I get that! Last minute as in what? And did you complete the program on time in the 3 semesters or did it take longer? Thanks so much for responding! Did you manage to work throughout the program?
