MCPHS Fall 2020 ABSN program

Published

Hi all, looking for anyone else that was accepted to/applied to MCPHS Worcester?!

Having mixed feelings, I'm really excited to get into the only program I applied to but also feeling some reservations about the program itself and wondering if it's bananas to wait and apply to Spring start programs elsewhere which I might not even get into anyway!

But also wow excited! Anyone else??

Just got my admission acceptance packet. I was given mcphs merit scholarship for $3000 each semester. Did anyone also get that too?

Specializes in EMT/GI Tech II.

Got my admissions packet earlier this week as well as the merit scholarship.

Anyone have Student Financial Services call them about their FAFSA not being received by MCPHS?

Also is the deadline for submitting a deposit for the program 4/4? Or is that referring solely to the housing deposit?

I got a merit scholarship for $3000 per semester ($12000 for the whole program) and need based $6000 for the entire program according to my financial aid packet. I also have $6000 personal scholarship from Americorps. Which would require me to take out $42000 in loans (not including housing ). I already owe $50000 In student loans from my previous undergrad degree and I want to go to NP school in the future too. So I think I’ll wait to see if I’m accepted to my local ADN program before making a decision.

@phscale I think that the deadline for both is but definitely verify with mcphs. They have been very helpful on the phone.

Is anyone going to be commuting to the program? I live near Hartford Ct and my commute will be 1hr

Hello, I just got accepted to MCPHS Worcester fall 2020 today. I have a lot of mixed feelings about it though. I hope to see everyone and we could make friends to study through this together.?

Congratulations! @Htang .

I decided not to go. Way to expensive and I want to go to Pmhnp school after so I don’t want $45000 in loans. Especially since these times make it clear that moving isn’t a good idea

Aww, that’s sad. Wish you will be successful, I know MCPHS is so expensive that’s why I’m considering about it too. The only plus is I live in Worcester so I just gonna commuting so I can save a lot of money from housing. I also had another loan from my undergrad too and I also want to become an NP as well. I just worried about the financial aid and the program itself because I don’t see a lot of information about the pass rate recently for this school.

@Htang yes thanks. Totally makes sense if you can commute. Best of luck to u!

Hi guys, I got into the Boston program. Any news on the quality of the program?

Hi! I applied for the Boston program (late, I know...) and am waiting to hear back. Does anyone know how the program is currently structured? Do many people work part time during the program? Thanks!!

Hi

I'm in the Worcester program right now and I figured I'd give some feedback in this forum because I remember how valuable allnurses help was to me when I was in the process of applying to nursing programs.

If you guys have any questions, I can give you my email!

@D.A If you don't mind sharing your thoughts on the program that would be great!! I'm considering the Boston program but have heard they are structured similarly? Thanks so much!
