MCCDNP Wait List... a new strategy

"Boru, you have not been placed"...

I'm going to change my user name to the above message!

Why can't we rank all choices (in this case 13) vs only 5 choices? No one on the top of the list would be passed over this way and everyone would at least have a "choice" when our time came. If you are towards the top of the list and you choose the schools that many others have choosen, then you may not get selected... and that's not fair - you've done your time.

I would drive to Phoenix, Avondale, Sun City, Glendale, Mesa, or Scottsdale to get this program done... would even do it online at Rio.

We should at least be able to see our "place" in line... we have to plan our lives around it.

Here is the link for the placement board in case any of you don't have it:

Ugh...I feel your frustration. :angryfire It seems you really have looked into everything and now it's just a waiting game for you. I really do NOT want to go through that but it seems I may have to once I get these pre-req's done!

Why not do one of the skill center LPN programs? I mean, what have you got to lose? Unless it will conflict with your job, that I would understand. What is your plan for work when you DO get into the community college program?

Although my issue is unlike yours, I have gone back and forth with all of the different options. I personally keep coming back to the LPN route, so that I can get out and be working. Then go on and try to get into one of the MCC programs.

i know its not the answer that anyone wants, but ubfortunately nursing seems to bew a long road no matter how you slice or dice it.. even the fast routes (private tech schools) have their drawbacks: high cost and typically they are not regionally accredited. im stuck in the same boat as everyone else. hopefully, though, we'll all be great nurses one day! (ps, sorry for trhe spellng/grmmar errors in my last few posts. i've been posting from my phone))

mesa boswell and pc traditional programs seem to be the least picked (per my teachers at pc at orientation)...eastside programs (tempe, scottsdale) seem to be the most picked....I am currently at pc and on the first day of class (Aug 08) not a single person said they had pc as a first pick out of the total 70 students who were actually placed on the list (20 more are in the bilingual program)...the average wait for most of them was at least a year and most had changed their last option to pc only because one of the eastside programs was not available as an option...and lo and behold they were placed....there were a few people that were only on the list for a few months because they had pc as an option...I was on it since march 07 and got in aug 08 so you never know...pc was not one of my options the first two runs
