MCCD Spring 2014 - Orientation packets

For those placed in the Spring 14 cohorts, have any of you received orientation packets yet? Or do you know when your school will be sending them out? There is a decent amount of cost in all that needs to be purchased and completed by orientation, so I'm hoping to get the details on what and where things should be purchased from. I already did my background check, and am signed up for a BLS CPR class, and I know where to purchase the uniform scrubs from, but am waiting to get the packet before I do. Ugh. We wait 2+ years just to get placed, and this 3 month wait to start seems even worse lol.

mrsboots87- So I bought my nursing tote today and it consists of the stuff I believe we will need for lab. IV starting kits, lab draw stuff, sample cups, ppe stuff. All that good stuff. The bookstore is super helpful at Gateway. They said they should have the book bundles in next week and the nursing diagnosis handbook soon also. They had the other 2 books.

SWEET! I was thinking it would be that kind of thing, but wasn't sure. At SCC they gave us a preliminary book list but said a few of the titles could change and not to purchase yet (not sure what the point of giving it to us was then lol), and said we wouldnt buy our nursing tote until later. They are still finalizing the book list so Im hoping the tote becomes available soon. Ive been buyng books already because I dont really care if they cahnge an edition or two. The info is almost identical in the various editions anyway. Just need a few more books and the dang tote and Im ready. This has been a very expensive couple of months. EEK
