Just thought we could get a thread started for those of us applying to MCC 2011 and maybe get some idea on hesi scores and gpas... :)

I got the same scores at you jellybean123, I got a 91 on my Hesi, and I have a 4.0. I feel the same way as you do! I don't know if that is good or bad yet. Hopefully we both get it at the same time! Good luck!!

I applied with a 3.67 gpa and a 92.7 on the HESI.

Well I took the HESI today, and I got a 90.33%. I'm happy with the score, and with my 3.8 GPA I think I'm gonna make the cut. I will just have to wait and see, good luck everyone!!

Considering that the 2010 class average was 3.58 GPA, and 88 on the HESI, I think you will get in no problem :)

Hey guys, I'm kind of new here, and plan on applying for the next admission cycle.

I went to an admissions seminar last week, and according to the counselor the 3.58/88 figure is actually an average of the bottom 5 people that were admitted into the program. The way he put it, in order to have a shot at getting in, you should have at least a 3.5/88.

Judging by all of your awesome GPA's and scores, I bet you all get in! *knock on wood* Best of luck to all of you. I hope to be in your places this time next year=]

and my GPA is 3.8

Have all of you taken the new class HHSC Intro to Nursing? If you have, what do you actually do in that class?

I have a 4.0 & 94. I'm happy that this program has no "wait list."

The HHSC class goes over things like history of nursing, roles of nurses, cultural diversity, legal and ethical considerations, there's a unit on math and conversions, etc. It is pretty hard to get an A in the class since the whole thing is only out of 100 points, but make sure you read the questions and answers at the back of the chapters and you'll be fine.

I have heard that they are making the HHSC class part of the ranking starting with the 2012-2013 year, so if you don't make it in this year and try again next year, make sure you plan for that possibility. But I keep hope that everyone here reading this won't have to worry about trying again next year. :)

I started the intro to nursing class today.

the teacher said she heard that the avg HESI score for applicants was 84-86..which to me..for an avg seems pretty low. so all of us with 90+ have some hope :)

she also said that she is a part of the group that picks the prereq's for the nursing program, and that this class WILL be factored into the GPA beginning next year. so if you applied for the '11 program and havent taken it, you still have to take it before you can start the program but it isnt factored into getting accepted. but beginning in '12 it will.
