I'm moving to Nashville after graduation in May this year. I currently have job offers at Saint Thomas West and Centennial Hospital (with HCA and TriStar). Does anyone have any advice as to which offer I should take, and why or why not? Thank you!

I am curious to know how early you applied for positions at these places?! I graduate in December and am planning to move to the area..wondered how soon I should apply!
Update: I took the job at Saint Thomas and start next week! Yay big girl job!
@kasiagayle13 Sorry it took so long for me to reply! For Saint Thomas, the interview for the nurse residency program was in late January. I want to say the application date was about a month before that. I would double check me though, just google Saint Thomas Health nurse residency and it should pop off.
Centennial doesn't have a residency so they don't have a formal due date if I remember correctly. With that said, I applied at the same time, in addition to applying for Vanderbilt's residency.
The best bet is to google the dates--which I am sure you've already done since I have just now replied, sorry about that!

Hi h.nurse94! I was just wondering if you could tell me the application process you had to go through for St. Thomas residency? I start my last year of nursing school in the fall and will graduate with my BSN. When you applied did you have your license already? I just didn't know if I could apply before I had my license. Thank you!
You'll have to look on their website for dates, but I applied in December (ish--can't remember exactly) and I graduated the following May. Here's how it works: you will receive offers at the applicable hospitals (St. Thomas West, Midtown, or Rutherford). You'll accept one and go through all the human resources on boarding stuff. They will give you information on when you will come, etc for your first day. You will have to take your NCLEX before you start. If you don't pass, it's okay! You still have a job offer and an offer with the residency, but it will be for the following cohort (so for me, it started in July, but if I had not passed, I would have started in October instead. So you won't have your license until the month (or couple of weeks) before you start. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for your feedback! I sent in my resume already! The website said the application process was already open for July 2017 cohort so I hope I didn't apply too early. If I don't hear I'll just resend my resume! Thanks so much for replying! :) good luck with the residency!!
