Hi Everyone,

I just need help setting up a math question. I am to infuse at 125ml/hr over the next 24 hrs. And I need to schedule these bags. The first bag is to be hung at 0700. I have looked all over my texts for a setup, and I am probably completely missing it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks-Lilly

i am to infuse at 125ml/hr over the next 24 hrs. and i need to schedule these bags. the first bag is to be hung at 0700.

each bag contains 1000 ml of fluid. therefore, each bag will take

1000 ml (amount desired)/125 ml (amount per hour) = 8 hours to infuse

if the first bag is hung at
0700 hours
and infuses in 8 hours, it will be completed at

0700 hours + 8 hours = 1500 hours

so, the second bag will be hung at
1500 hours (3pm)
. it will be completed at

1500 hours + 8 hours = 2300 hours

the third, and final bag will be hung at
2300 hours (11pm)
. it will be completed at (this one is a little trickier in figuring out the time)

2300 hours + 8 hours = 3100 hours

(substract 2400 to get the correct time conversion) = 0700 hours. that completes the 125 ml, or3000 ml, per 24 hours as ordered.
