I am horribly bad at math and would love if someone would explain how to solve the following problem. Thank you for any and all help.
How many ml of 50% dextrose should be added to 1L of 0.9% NaCl to make a 5% dextrose solution?
Thank you!!

what is the relationship between 50% and 5%? and go from there
Sorry Morte but that does not mean anything to me. Really bad at math. Need it explained to me like you were trying to explain it to a monkey.
lololololol
well, i was actually hoping Daytonite would come along....
i think i have this right, but....
50% an 5% have a 1:10 ratio, so i would think 1 ml of 50% to each 10 mls of the original mixture......but perhaps it is 9 ml......this is why i want Day's opinion on this
