_________ X the form= amount to give
drug available
I'll give you an example you are orgered to give 7 mg of a drug and you have a vial that contailns 10mg/ml
7mg
_____ X 1ml = .7 ml to be given
10mg
This formula also works for tabs to tel you how many to give of if you need a half.

Its The Dram To Ml And So On A Trick To Rember It All In The Right Order Would Help
Hello Jeff,
the conversion of drams to mL's is 1 dram = 4 mL
I am not sure of an easy way to remember it all. To me the apothocary sucks. They are difficult to remember. But you should note that apthocary is not exact, neither is household. My best advice to try to memorize this is get yourself one of those plastic medicine cups. The kind that is clear with all the little lines and measurements. Maybe steal it from the hospital you go to school at or if you have one around the house from a bottle of cold syrup.
IF drams are not marked on it... then write it on yourself. and keep it for reference.
30 mL = 2 TBSP = 1 Fl OZ = 8 drams
15 mL = 1 TBSP = 1/2 OZ = 4 drams
5 ml = 1 tsp
Let me know what else you need help with,
Angie
