Why do some colleges only want you to take the TEAS at their school?

I am in the process of starting to apply to LPN to RN programs. I took my TEAS at St. Joseph yesterday, but if I want to also apply to MCC or Salem State, I have to take it again at those schools.I think MCC said I have to take it at any of the state schools and they would accept that. I do not mind taking it again I guess (even though it gets expensive) but I just don't understand why?? Why can't ATI just send my results to the other schools? Does anyone know?

Money? If you test at their testing center, they can bill you for it. :uhoh3:

Or, perhaps they would like to ensure that you were properly proctored, and they will only accept the TEAS taken at a vetted testing center.

Just my thoughts.

Sounds like money. I took mine the day after Christmas off-site bc it was the only place that had a spot open. TEAS test sites get filled up fast. It's tough enough prepping for them then having to be further challenged with having to test at specific places. Crazy.

I heard from a good source that recently a student at my school FLEW 400 miles away JUST TO TAKE THE EXAM bc there were no local test dates available-within a few weeks to meet the nursing school deadline for apps.

These test sites are probably making good coin at $95/test and solid booking.
