According to the website:
"MAPSN is a Massachusetts peer support organization for nurses with substance use disorder. Our organization is founded by nurses who have walked the path of recovery from substance use disorder. We are here to extend our unwavering support, guidance, and understanding to fellow nurses who are on their journey to healing. Peer support consists of giving and receiving non-professional, non-clinical assistance from nurses with similar conditions or circumstances to achieve long-term recovery. Peer support is rooted in the idea that people who share similar experiences can offer help, empathy, validation, information, and hope."
