Marymount second degree nursing pre-req

Published

iam applying for Marymount University for Fall 2010 but i wasn't able to complete my Chem pre-req due to some family incident. i am planning to take Chem in the summer. What are my chances of getting in?? the class would be done before the program begins.

When I applied to MU I was in the process of completing a pre-req and had another to complete prior to starting classes. I can't say that it wasn't considered during the admission process, but I was accepted; I had good grades in all the pre-reqs I had completed. The requirement is that you have your pre-reqs completed prior to starting the program, not prior to applying/accepting admission. Apply and make sure you get good grades! Good luck!

i have a GPA of 3.2 with all pre-reqs completed except chem... i am going to send them a personal letter with recommendations....

I personally submitted everything with my application, whether it was required or not, i.e. academic recommendations, personal essay, and ATI test scores. None of these are necessarily required but they do help strengthen your application. In terms of your recommendations, I suggest getting recent academic recommendations; your A&P professors would be ideal candidates!

i picked my recent professors and also my job manager (pharmacist) to write me recom. what was ur GPA?? i have not taken ATI test...??? Should I???

Since your manager is a health professional, that should be helpful also. As far as taking the ATI, if you get a good score it definitely won't hurt, but I would say that it depends on your situation. Are you a recent college graduate? I don't remember what my overall GPA was but it was less than stellar and since I completed my 1st bachelor's degree many years ago, I felt that taking the ATI test would help strengthen my application. In terms of my pre-reqs, my GPA was a 3.5.

ya..iam a recent graduate... i just hope i make it... Do you know anything about George washington's 2nd degree nursing program..??

Sorry, I don't know anything about GW's program but there's probably a DC nurses forum; chances are there's a thread about their program somewhere.
