Montgomery College, Fall 2011, 1st semester students

U.S.A. Maryland

Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

I have no clue, what to get. When we used one in A & P 2, I had a hard time hearing anything.

I read this site has better prices than allheart.com

They actually have student nurse kits there.

The kits are convenient. I think they all include the Littman Classic II. I've read good things about this model and it seems to be the one nursing students are getting. I would like to be able to test out models before purchasing. Some ppll have mentioned getting a steth. w/ soft ear pieces cuz they have a better fit and results in better hearing.

Nikki- On reddingmedical there's a pair of sketchers that look very similar to what you picked on shoebuy.

They also have the mary jane's-Hobbie.

Thought you ladies may find this an interesting read. Just happened upon it as I was browsing for the "best stethoscope for nursing students" :)

Andrea, thanks for posting the link, that was a good find.

A PDA too? Great little gadget. Never really had a need for it...until now.

No problem Kristian! I'm thinking that instead of getting a PDA I'll just invest in a smart phone. My husband has one (the Sprint EVO 4G I believe) and he has tons of memory on it. He has Adobe Reader on it and it holds tons of files from his job. He says if I get a bigger memory card, I can definitely store books and whatnot on there as well, just like a PDA. I think that would be easier than carrying around a cell phone AND a PDA but I'll have to look into both of them more carefully before deciding...

I was just thinking about a smart phone. My husband has the Droid 2 and can't live w/ out, attached to him at all times. I usually use my phone for texting and calls, but I guess it may be time to invest in a smart phone. Too many choices out there...
