BCCC Fall 2014

U.S.A. Maryland

Hello all,

I'm starting nursing school in a couple months and I am so excited/nervous! Is there anyone else here starting the Bccc nursing program this fall, or who has been in the program and can tell me what you think of it? I hope this is the right choice for me! I've heard some people say bccc has a bad reputation, is that true? I didn't apply anywhere else because this is what I can afford right now. I'm sure it will probably be fine, they made it sound super challenging at the information session, but... Basically I'm just so nervous and would love to hear from anyone who is in the same boat or knows what the program is like! Thanks!

Did you end up starting the program this semester? I know it's early; How is it? I'm trying to apply for spring 2015 but I haven't seen the application online. Ms Henderson said it was to be up today...

They do tend to be pretty disorganized, which can be frustrating. Not surprised about the application not being available when they said it would be. But I do think it is a good program overall. It's very challenging and I think those who make it through will be excellent nurses.

Well that gives me some hope about the nursing excellence. This disorganization on the other hand...

Is it hard getting into the program? I am attending Sojourner Douglass college and they might loose their accreditation . and I am looking for another program. And advice would be appreciated.

I don't think it's particularly hard to get into the program. You might need some BCCC credits to be eligible, and at least a 2.5 gpa. I think they mostly just look at your grades for A&P 1 and 2, biology, microbiology, and chemistry. And they don't all need to be A's. You might want to look into transferring to another college, too, like Coppin or Morgan.

Hi, Cloudtalk,

I applied for Spring 2015 at BCCC and also CCBC. It is going to be a long wait until we find out the answer. Good luck!
