Marquette University - Direct Entry MSN Spring 2023

Hi, I just got accepted into Marquette University's Sp 2023 Cohort in Pleasant Prairie. I'm from Houston and was hoping to connect with some of my fellow classmates or maybe even those still waiting on admissions.

Hi! I just got my acceptance letter today, also for the Pleasant Prairie campus Spring Cohort. I'm just waiting on financial aid to accept my spot. I am from California, so I'm a little nervous about the Wisconsin weather and relocating in general. But I'm super excited to start.

Yay congratulations!! Same, but I spoke to an alumni who is also from California & she said not to worry. Apps Summer  & fall are amazing. One tip she gave me is to  just order snow shovels and have them delivered your new address cause apparently they run out. She also said that we should have snow/leather shoes for clinicals as well as covers for your car if you’re not in a place with a garage.  I’m excited to meet you!!

Hi! I have applied for 2023 fall start! I am just wondering how long it took for you guys to hear an admissions decision? Also how is your semester going? Hearing mixed reviews on the program is making me a bit nervous.

Hi Congratualtions on finishing your application! I heard back I believe the next week, however this is because I applied near to the second cycle of application reviews. You should ask you admissions advisor when they're having the next round of application reviews and this should give you a good timeline. Also keep up with your online portal because you'll likely see before your advisor. There is a $500 fee to hold your spot, so start saving for that also. My semester is going great. All A's and but there is a lot of busy work. As long as you go through the moducles, you should be fine for exams. EVERYONE cares, so that's nice. Good luck on your application!

thank you for the advise! Good to hear that your semester is going well and there seems to be a community! When you say to check my portal, are you talking about where the application is submitted? or is there somewhere else I should be looking, like the link they had sent to set up a school email account?

Hi Fritz! When did you submit your application? I also applied for fall 2023 and I submitted mine around mid January. I was told by the admissions advisor that my application will be in the review cycle next week and I should hear back next week.

hi @kirbyyy I submitted mine late last week. I talked to my admissions counselor and was also told that my application would be reviewed as early as Tuesday! Let me know when you get your decision!

@Fritz1005 I was told Tuesday too!! I'm really scared tho because I don't know if my stats are competitive enough but I'm still hopeful. Let me know as well when you hear back!! On the side note, did you get an email from the DEMSN program coordinator about a one-on-one opportunity to talk to a student ambassador?

@Fritz1005 yes, check the portal where you submitted your application. Also don't be too worried about your stats. My cohort and I are all over the place as stats are concerned, with varying levels of experience and degrees. I'm sure you'll get in. If you are not from Wisconsin, I would recommend that you come down pre-orientation (usually they have a pre-orientation meet) and GO LOOK AT APARTMENTS. This is a very different state and its best to see what you're paying for  (regardless of the photos you see ). The ambassadors should be a wealth of information as to locations & apartments around.

@kirbyyy Yes! I did get that email, I was thinking I would wait to hear an admissions decision prior to reaching out. 

I am also nervous, but I am hopeful everything will work out!

Thank you so much!! Also, what do you mean by all over the place with the stats? If you don't mind I have a few more questions :) Do you know anyone who got in with a C in their pre-reqs? How many people are in your cohort and how many applied if you know? When was the pre-orientation for your cohort?
