Hello! I haven’t seen a post for Fall 2022 and I figured I would start one. My admissions counselor said they would be reviewing applications in the next two weeks. Has anyone else heard anything?
@Llluv1118 Don't get discouraged, we're rooting for you! ? These were my pre-requisite grades:
Human Anatomy and Physiology: B+ and B-
Microbiology with lab: A
Chemistry: A-
Nutrition for Health Sciences: I am taking this semester
Psychology: A
Statistics: A-
I have a B.S in Biomedical Sciences (cGPA 3.2) almost 3,000 hours of healthcare experience, a lot of volunteering/leadership, and currently, I am working in a research lab. Side note, I asked admissions if they accept all 96 seats in the first review and they said no. Maybe they didn't even see your app yet!
Hey don’t stress, you got this!!
My prereq grades were:
AP1- A, AP2- taking this semester
Microbio- taking this semester
Chem 1- B-, I took orgo chem which I did better on but IDK if they looked at that too or not
Pysch1- A, Dev Psych- B+
Nutrition- A
Biostats- B.
I got a BA in Biology w a 3.49 (I was aiming for above a 3.5 but I forgot to turn in my final project for 2 bio classes a week before grad LOL?). As for experience, I’ve been at 3 diff Physical Therapy offices shadowing, interning, and doing office management. Aside from that, I shadowed/interned at a doctors office, dentist office, and volunteered for FIMRC. I don’t have any research under me and not really any official long term employment Bc I graduated last Spring and just tried a bunch different things since then. I hope that helps!
Yes like they said, they might just review yours next cycle and admit you then!
For prereqs I had:
A & P: A
Micro: got a B the first time but I’m retaking it right now because my first course didn’t have a lab
Chem: B-
Nutrition: B+
Statistics: B-
Psych: AP 4
Dev psych: A
I had a 3.2 GPA for my Psych BA. I worked in a neuro research lab during undergrad & volunteered on the Walk to End Alzheimer’s planning committee and in an Emergency department. I’ve worked as a home health aide, a patient transporter in a hospital, and currently have been working as a medical assistant/procedure tech in an ENT clinic. So grade wise my app wasn’t the strongest, which makes me think that they really do look at each app as a whole. Good luck!
7 minutes ago, Jordyn Young said:Hi guys! I just got my letter last week as well and will be attending in the Fall at Pleasant Prairie. Random question, but what are you all doing for housing? ?
Hey, congrats!
I actually live in Pleasant Prairie already! I grew up in Kenosha and I also went to Marquette for 2 years of undergrad so lmk if you have any questions about the area ?
@Jordyn Young congrats! I am honestly unsure at the moment. I currently live in downtown Chicago and my lease isn't up until September.
Lets gooo, congrats to ya! That’s actually a solid question, I have no clue. Waiting on my friend’s app status before making a decision. We’re from nyc so maybe we’ll rent? Y’all know what the student rental prices go for around here?
I'm sure once it gets a little closer they'll give more options, but if anyone wants roommates or if we want to work out living nearby each other, that'd be super awesome to plan out ahead of time for studying purposes or just to hang out :)) Also thanks @Maddie_krueger, I will definitely be taking you up on that LOL. @yang I am sure it is cheaper than nyc, probably ~$1500/month for a one bedroom nicer place and cheaper as you have more roommates? @Emma Fischer Were you planning on staying in Chicago after your lease or move closer after its up? I'm near Madison, WI, so it's not too too far but far enough that I kind of want to get a place there... I dunno?
@Jordyn Young I will definitely be moving out of Chicago! I think for the first couple of months I will be living at home in the NW suburbs of IL (online for class and commuting for clinical) and then my bf and I have plans to move in together a little closer to Pleasant Prairie but it just depends where he gets relocated for work. However, I am super excited to meet you all as well and will definitely want to study/hang out!

That sounds awesome! You'll have to keep us updated on where you end up ?

Hey everyone! What was everyone's stats if you don't mind me asking? I was just told today that I'll be in the next review cycle.
