Maricopa Nursing /NAU Partnership

Published

I just got an email from maricopa nursing about new nursing partnerships with NAU. 30 cohorts. Must have all pre req.. co- req. and NAU requirement. (Aesthetic and humanistic. 6 credits, statistics, psy 240, fon 241 and other courses. You must meet requirements no exception. When program starts ? Unknown. I doubt if any one has all requirements now. You take classes at Glendale and Nau at same time and you get associates and bsn. 5 semesters. Pardon my typo.

By the way , my application date for. Maricopa Nursing is 10/8/10. Glendale community college is my first choice . I guess it must have been emailed to everyone on waiting list.

I know I just got the email earlier today. I am so bummed because I don't have a 3.0 GPA. I cant believe they are making you take those other NAU classes before you can even apply...give me a break there are probably a couple people that have went ahead and taken some but I know for sure I will not be a candidate this year for the special cohort. It does give more hope because on the bright side another cohort opens up more spots for us that are waiting in limbo on the regular maricopa list...

Believe it or not but I have all pre-req. And co-reqs. done (I graduated from NAU). But how long will it take to get this program started? Is it 5 semesters accelerated? traditional? Are the clinicals done in outlying areas in Northern AZ like it is for their NAU nursing students? Glendale and NAU? One week in Glendale the next week in Flagstaff? I don't understand I have ques. ques. ques. I do think this is a great option that will be opening up for the many applicants!

I have 3.5 Gpa and I will need to take psy 240,hcr 240, 3 credits for aethestic and 6 credit for cultural NAU requirements. People who already have intentions of attending NAU,NAU grads, are those that will be lucky to apply. No date on when program starts. You will be a student of. Glendale community college and NAU at same time.that is taking classes at both places. Program. Requirements doesn't favor most on wait list who have no intentions of going to NAU . I will just stick with My. Lpn plan for April application /fall entry .

Specializes in RN-BC, CCRN, TCRN, CEN.

Has anyone gone to the info sessions about this yet??

I'm signed up to go tomorrow but don't know if I can get out of work to do it!! I will have all req's complete at the end of this semester (I just applied for ASU's summer program and will soon be applying to NAU's Fall program). This seems like a good option, I just need to know more about it!!

Thanks,

Jeremy
