Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi, so long story short, I had plan to apply for Grand Canyon University mainly because of their fast track program and no waitlist, this semester I will be done with all my pre-requisites yet the way GCU are accepting students into the nursing program has change, pretty much my chances to start in the fall 2015 are less than 10% since I am a transfer student and not a GCU student. SO I decided to apply for the nursing program at the maricopa community colleges since thats where I am currently finishing my pre-reqs, I want to go into their CEP program which I have all the pre-reqs they require to apply the problem is that I applied kinda last minute so I wouldn't be able to start till spring 2016. I already have all my classes done pretty much is just about getting the email that I am in in one of the programs, I need to do something until I start nursing school so I was thinking to get NA or CNA and work while I wait yet idk if it is a good idea and if paying for that will be worth it,
anyone has an opinion of what should I do???
ps. my GCU advisor told me that I can take some religious class that are required to be a GCU student yet it will cost me about $4,000 for those classes and taking those classes doesn't guaranty me that I can start nursing school in spring 2016 at least I know for CEP program I can start in spring. This is another option of what I can do while I wait but I just don't want to pay that money an then get a spot at a maricopa college.

I know the CNA program at Maricopa is about $1200 and not eligible for financial aid if I remember correctly. I am also applying for CEP at the upcoming application session and will start spring 2016 if all goes as planned. I thought about doing CNA as well but the fact that it would be all out of pocket for me and I also don't plan to work during nursing school made the decision for me - no. If you are planning to work during nursing school then it may be a good option for you if you can afford the $1200 Out of pocket. If not, I would say just enjoy the fall break. Make sure you have all your humanities taken care of. They aren't pre or co-reqs but are still needed for your degree. I'm taking two humanities this fall so that I won't have to do it after nursing blocks.
