ok, have any of you experienced this??
i was walking by a room last night, where a student nurse was tending to her patient. i overheard the family (that had just come in) say, "so what do you do?"
the student replied, i am a nursing student helping to take care of your dad tonight.
they all giggled. one said, so your pretending huh??
she said no, i am learning.
:angryfirethey all kept laughing. except the patient & the student.
but they kept on with the comments and belittling statements, so i walked by and said hey mr. so&so, how are you tonight? i didn't get a chance to say hello yet.
they all smiled and replied. i said "wow, your a lucky guy tonight! you have one of the star students taking care of you!" he smiled and said how good she was to him.
poor thing, thanked me later was a little teary but insisted she was ok.
have any of you been in a situation like that before??
how did you address it??
