and finally, what does an lpn do? i apologize for soo many questions . but i am hoping you can all understand my concerns. i'm 34, its a risk that i am willing to take i just want to have all the facts before i do. i don't want to leave a job and fall flat on my face. i thank you all for your input. fyi, i live in obviously in dade county can anyone point me in the right direction in regards to starting out such as schooling and jobs. thanks:)

You should start by talking to advisors at the LPN school you're interested in and they'll guide you through the process. Mostly likely you'll be taking placement tests.

Salarywise LPNs make in the mid-teens to upper teens here in Florida.

Getting an LPN if you don't have any pre-reqs typically takes about a year.

Job duties include doing physical assessments, treatments like dressing changes, and medication administration. Plus many things too much to go into in a thread like this.

LPNs are primarily used in nursing homes and long term care. Hospital jobs are hard to come by for new grads.
