Nursing Students CNA/MA

Hi All,

I'm finishing CNA School here in Florida on Dec. 11 and applying to take the State Test by Prometric. I have a copy of Prometric's Clinical Procedures and I am using that as my guide for the Test. I want to pass this test the first time, I need work !!!! Can someone that recently took the State Clinical Portion please tell me, does Prometric make you complete each one of the steps for a given procedure or do they give you certain steps to perform out of a given procedure ? I know they allot you 35 mins to perform 5 procedures (3 besides the handwashing and Patient's Rights) but 35 mins doesn't seem like a whole lot of time to perform 3 procedures especially if you get making an occupied bed. Any other tips would be much appreciated too, I am so nervous about someone watching me do this.

Thanks:eek:

A computer picks 3 random skills. Then you peform the full skill.

Specializes in Peds OR as RN, Peds ENT as NP.

We got this note card with three skills on it and had to do it in order. 35 minutes does not seem like a long time because you are a little nervous right now. Occupied bed making will not take a long time as long as you practice and remain confident. They will not make you do three hard ones like bedpan, occupied bed, and partial bed bath in 35 minutes. That would be CRAZY if they did.
