So I was taking my prenursing for BSN classes at my university and only made a C in Anatomy and a C in Algebra. This semester I was taking anatomy 2 but had plans on transferring to my local tech school for ADN. I was in anatomy 2 this semester and was only pulling a 77 at midterm. I was stuck with the decision on whether I pursue the course and risk getting a mid range grade or getting a W which doesnt count against me instead of WF.
I was already planning on retaking my first anatomy and algebra at the tech school but Im wondering how thats gonna affect me when theyre looking at me for the nursing program. Was it better to continue on with it and get a mid range grade, or is it ok that I got the W and will retake it at my next school?
Also how do they look upon retaking classes that had a passing grade? Im just looking for that chance to redeem myself and I know I will at this new school.

These are questions you need to ask of the school you want to transfer to. They might count Ws against you heavily. The ADN program at the school I took prerequisites at took points off your application based on the number of Ws OR Fs you have. So for them, a W was just as bad as an F.
The school I ended up going to looked at GPA so for them there was definitely a difference between getting a W or an F.

My advisor told me that as long as its a W in a class you are definitely going to retake that it is not a big deal. Most but not all school prefer a W over an F. So I would just call and ask the school you plan to attend.
