I am applying this February as Well! I will be taking my Hesi a2 exam in January. This semester I am taking Patho.

I'll be applying this February as well. I'm taking my HESi December 5th and currently finishing up Micro and A&P, so hopefully all goes well with those!

I will be applying this february too! I am taking my HESI early january and I'm finishing up A&P right now. Question though, does anyone know if we have to have ethics/nutrition/psych done in the winter semester? I was thinking of taking the winter semester off to work and pay off my car before the program. If i am accepted into the program I was going to take the ethics and nutrition class in the summer semester (I have already taken psych). Will not taking classes next semester effect my chances of getting in? any comments/opinions are helpful:)

We don't need to have those classes done before getting into the program! They can either be taken before or during the program, as long as they get done before we finish :) I'll be taking nutrition and psychology online this winter just to get them out of the way, but they aren't necessary.

Hi I was going through forums for macomb and I saw that your comment says you're taking the HESI December 5 and I was just wondering how it went? I'm using the hesi 4th edition book to study do you know if that was useful if you used it!? Also how was the vocab and a&p sections because those two are my hard parts to study!? I take my exam next week & im kinda stressed lol

It went pretty well! I bombed the math portion and got a 66 on that which dropped my score down to an 84, but I got high 80s and a 90 on the rest of the sections. Know your conversions, like grams to kilograms, and oz to pints, etc. You will see a lot of multiplying and dividing fractions and decimals. I used the 3rd edition of that book and it definitely helped me! There were a lot of repeat a&p questions from the book. I would say the information in there is sufficient enough to do well on that section. There were only 30 a&p questions and I believe 50-55 on the other sections. The reading comprehension was very easy and all the answers were pretty much in the passages. Study the vocabulary words that are in the book, you will see repeats of those. You're able to take the sections in any order you like and can pause, work on another portion, and go back at a later time which is nice. It's honestly not that bad, try not to stress yourself out because it was a lot easier than I had expected. You will do just fine and don't really need to study until the week or 2 before! Thanks for advice and tips!! For the math was the calculator available for each question or just certain ones!? Also what kind of a&p questions were on there and were they too specific or just general!? Thanks again I really appreciate your help!

Hey everyone! I'm applying for 2018. I've finished all my pre reqs. I've taken the HESI. I did psych, religion, and nutrition. So now it's just a waiting game. I'm excited, but super nervous too!

Hey everyone I will be taking the HESI A2 January 4th and am so nervous! Does anyone know how they calculate our gpa? When I called they said it's based on honor points but it doesn't give me a .0 just the number of honor points I have.

The honor point system IS the 4.0, 3.5, whatever system. Our GPA is going to be calculated by our 4 prerequisites only. So it's going to be based on A&P, micro, intro to nursing, and English. You could use an online GPA calculator. Just make sure you input the amount of credits each class is worth. Good luck on your HESI!
