Does anyone have any information as to what the average grade point and Hesi scores are for this year? How many people actually applied for the program and took the Hesi? When does Macomb usually send out acceptance letters?
Also, even though the criteria is different this year, any idea as to what the lowest scores/gpa were for acceptance last year?
Thanks

I'm assuming you mean macomb community college in michigan?
You may want to post in the michigan regional section....you may get more responses.
I would suggest you call the nursing department and ask for information. In general, what I know about MCC's program is this:
- They look at three prerequisite courses. I don't remember what they are, I know for sure it's english composition one, anatomy one and I don't remember the third one
- They weight your gpa in those three classes as 50% and your hesi score as 50%.
- If I remember correctly, you pretty much have to have a nearly perfect gpa (>3.8) and atleast a 90% on the hesi to stand a chance. Because they look at so few classes for admission, you basically need a 4.0 to be "guaranteed" a spot
- The nice thing about MCC, again, if I remember correctly is that they admit in "four cohorts" each year. They rank students according to 50% gpa and 50% hesi and the highest rankers are admitted in the first cohort and so on.
My information may be outdated/incorrect...it has been awhile since I looked into information on it.
I have moved my post to the Michigan discussion board. Thank you for the information.
