I'm 3/4 through my first year as a SRNA and want to buy a Apple IBook. Anybody have any problems using MAC applications to get through school/board reviews?? Thanks for any info.

I've been a MAC user for many years. I didn't have any problem with CRNA school with my PowerBook G4 or my PowerMac G5. The only thing I would suggest is to get Microsoft Office for Mac to help you with your papers and presentations. During our journal club presentations, I would use Keynotes by Apple to give my presentations, and I would blow everyone away (since I'm the ONLY Mac user in the whole class), especially when I incorporate Boris effects and Photoshop into my presentations. Apple RULES!

Right there with you vinny! I just completed my first semester and i have a powerbook. I love it and don't have 1/2 of the problems that any PC users in the class struggle with. My hubby uses keynotes I am not as good with that, but i just bought the microsoft for mac package and use word, excel, powerpoint, etc. You will not regret purchasing a mac and will probably never go back to PC. I know i am not. PC's are just what the initials are P=piece of C=crap!!

ditto of the above experiences. I made it through my entire program with a mac and had no problems.
this is great to know - I'm on it. I agree so far, I HATE my pc. Total piece of crap. I have always been told how great the Apples are- just wanted to check with you all on usage..thank you for responding, I appreciate it and have been reading all your posts since before I applied to graduate school! Hope I meet you all out there in the work place someday.

Glad to hear the positive reviews for macs. Im planning on getting one before I start this fall. My POS PC only has to last a few more months, and then Im going to go 'office space' on it and smash it into a million pieces..

I have been a MAC user for years and have never had a complaint, except with a stupid networking issue that was easily resolved.
I have a MAC on my anesthesia machine, which comes in handy for quick reference for meds, strange diseases, etc.
We totally run the sugicenter with a MAC, including Filemaker for our data base, and QuickBooks for bookkeeping. I also have a PowerBook at home, which I am using now, also use it for my anesthesia business, writng, lectures and all sorts of household things, such as household inventory, recipes and wine tips.
I have a 12" PowerBook which fits into my briefcase and goes with me just about everywhere. I have never had a virus, never froze up on me, nor failed to do what I want it to. I wish I was better at graphics software and internet development,
However, I use a Miller blade to intubate.
