Hello All!
I am a LVN with my AS and wanted to see the best school/option for getting my RN. I have thought about going into a community college that offers the 30 unit option so I can sit for the test and then go back for an online course for my BSN. However, I did see some posts that say 30 unit options are bad.
my question is - if I have my AS do I need to go through with the ADN program? I am confused on this part.
also if you have any recommendations for schools/programs for a full time working mom that would be great! TIA! :)

I'm not sure what a 30 unit option is. I don't think my state has that. If it doesn't meet all of the regular nursing school requirements, you may have a hard time transferring it to another state if you ever decide to move, so I'd research that before decided it. It may transfer just fine, I'm just not familiar with it.
Edit: After googling it, I'm not convinced that my state would allow you to endorse as an RN with the 30 unit option since a good portion of your clinical hours are done in the LVN program.
If you are admitted to an ADN RN nursing program, you'll have to complete the ADN. You'd have 2 degrees. It's the same for those who already have bachelor degrees. They would still complete an ADN or BSN program to become a nurse. Basically, you'll look at their curriculum and cross out any classes you already took during your AS degree (like English or math; not nursing courses).
