The best advice I can give you is make good grades!! I had A's and one B in my pre-reqs. I took all the pre-reqs. And I graduated from lvn school at TC so that was an extra point. I applied once and got accepted. The programIs very competitive, just keep your GPA up there. Mine was a 3.7 when I got in. Hope this helps.

Wow, congratulations!
What does your schedule look like? How many were accepted? I'm sure it's competitive. So far I have a 3.5 I'm registered for A&P II, 1302 English this spring; I have everything else. I'm planning on applying January 2014.
I've been an LVN for 2 years & tired of the "RNs" being superior to a LVN.
My other option is Wayland Baptist University, they have an LVN to BSN. Tuition is extremely painful but I'm tired of being a student, the faster I'm done the better! I'm 22, married & we have a 4 year old son. I'm ready to be a RN
Thanks!! I was actually accepted in 2010 in the program but I found out i was pregnant and decided to wait that next year, I applied 2011 and got in again! I believe there was like 35 of us accepted. They mentioned 150-200 applicants that applied, unsure of the exact number. Actually the schedule isn't as terrible as our lvn schedule was! We have clinicals on mon and tues from 6:45-2:00. On Mondays actually the second half of the day is class and we go till 4. Wednesday 1-3 and Thursdays 8-3. Fridays off. They do switch up schedules every year so it might change of course. And they offer clincials on Saturdays for some students that can't do mon and tues clincials. But again that may change and its first come first serve. Being an lvn helped me out a lot in the program, been an lvn for almost 4 years, i had a good understanding of the medical field, the hardest part was transitioning my self from "thinking like a lvn, to an RN". That's what all the instructor tell us bridging student " stop thinking like and lvn, it's not just skills and task anymore"!!! TC is a great college!!! The instructors are awesome and most challenge you, which helps you to grow!! Keep up those grades and I hope you get in!
I've heard good things about TC. A lot of my coworkers went there for their bridge Lvn to RN
I actually live 100 miles from temple so if I get accepted we're relocating to temple. Thank The Lord my husband is supportive.
I doubt I'll get into ACC they're are to many applicant and usually get in the second year.
Im excited to be almost done w prereqs! This time next year I will be applying everywhere. Even in San Antonio!
Thank you for the info.
& good luck in school!
Sure no problem! When I was applying for the program I would have wanted some info! I actually live about 70 miles from temple. I commute back and forth everyday! But I do car pool with some girls that live half way to temple so that helps. Commuted in lvn school too! I don't mind driving! Only one more semester to go anyways.... Yes TC is great. You'll love it. And ACC I heard the same thing. If you keep your grades up well you shouldn't have a problem.
Also lol how is the pharmacology? It's been a while since I took the class in 2010:/
Do they test over it? Review? How do they work it into the classes?
I'm just trying to prepare myself. Maybe the semester before I should take a refresher class?
Thank you so much for the info. I'm a bit antsy lol

Jc1809LVN, did u get in? :)
I am gonna be applying to next years bridge program! I graduated from TC LVN program in 2008.. Its been so busy for me since then. I decided this year that I would bridge through TC instead of wasting my time with Excelsior (whom Ive been with 2 years.) Everytime I get close to being done, they add another class for me, increase the fee, and make clinical weekend virtually impossible. Im fed up with them, so Ill just go the traditional route. I work for the VA and they are offering to pay for school, so that just motivated me even more to get it done.
My friend Sarah is in the bridge program now and graduates in May. She said they usually let 35 people in, however I have heard from a few people I work with that sometimes they only accept 15? She said the best thing to do is keep your GPA up. I will be finishing my prereqs this summer (because miraculously, the prereqs I took through Excelsior do NOT transfer over..) so I am retaking a&p 1 and 2. Fun times.
rogerssr597, thanks for all the info!!! :) I bet you are super excited to graduate soon!!!!!
