LVN-RN or BSN transition HELP

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

I have been applying to LVN-RN transition at multiple schools, I live in East TX and can't seem to get accepted into a school anywhere. My GPA is close to a 3.0 but not there yet, I have a Bachelor's degree, I have all of my RN pre-reqs completed. I have C's in A&P 1 and 2 (took them when I was 20), I'm 28 now. My question is how on earth can I get accepted into a school if I can't manage to get enough points based on GPA, they say "retake A&P" well if I retake it they will only give me 1 extra point per class for it so it's not going to raise my entry points by hardly anything. I wish they would look at my LVN school grades and see that I obviously am very motivated, I made almost all A's in nursing school. You would think the school I got my LVN from would want to take my money a second time to let me get my RN! Any ideas on what I should do/can do or any advise will be greatly appreciated!

Hey there! Retake whatever you have to retake to get your GPA up to the bare minimum. I had to retake English I and AP I , and then add a couple classes I knew I needed for the eventual BSN to get my GPA up to the bare minimum. My classes and GPA were from almost 20 years ago! It sucks and it cost me a whole year of school but I'm starting my last two semesters of my bridge program, and I can tell you it was well worth it!

Thanks for the advice, I really didn't want to have to retake them but at this point I don't have much choice, most schools won't take the sciences anymore d/t being take over 5 years ago
