Lots of nursing homes have closed or are at risk of closing in Dallas and elsewhere in Texas due to budget cuts. On top of that, 10's of 1000's of just Californians are flocking to Texas every year to find work, so there may be more people than jobs, which will decrease pay all around. Also, by this October the results of the ACA might be better known, either for the better or for the worst. Best plan is to consider the worst, hope for the best, but plan to live as cheaply as possible.

Hello everyone. I am thinking about moving to the DFW area in October 2014. I was wondering what the most recent starting pay for LVNs is. I have 2 years experience and I am currently in an Acute Skilled Nursing facility . My starting base pay was 23.50 with a 1$ shift diff and 2$ on weekends and I also work 12 hour (7p-7A) shifts. Any information would be greatly appreciated, hope to hear from you all soon.
