Hi, i am currently working in TX as an lvn and recently graduated from the rn program. however i plan on moving to LA soon. I am wondering if there's any laws that prohibit me from getting my rn license in LA. SO basically, can i work as an lvn in tx while having a rn license in LA?? i simply want to take boards sooner than later but dont want it to interfere with my current job/license and Also dont want to pay 325 for tx rn then turn around months later and pay 200 for LA rn

Generally, you're held to the highest licensure you have. So even if you continue to work as an LVN, if anything happens, you're going to be investigated as an RN.
Are there laws against it? That I don't know. Sounds like an answer you might be able to find on the BON site, or failing that, your malpractice insurance carrier, or even an attorney who has a working knowledge of medical/nursing issues.
