LVN jobs fading fast

Been an LVN for 10 years, recently lost my last job due to budget cuts, unable to find an LVN job in southern california. All I hear is "We are not hiring LVN right now". Even networking with other LVNs has led to nowhere. May have to relocate to the east coast if unable to locate something in the next two weeks, can't wait around on unemployment and face possible eviction. Where are the LVN jobs in California. Got one email from Core Medical group, heard too many negative experiences about the company, was afraid to reply. I have never seen it this bad in all my years as a LVN. Any one have any thoughts about what areas to look?

Hmm...just did a search with Indeed & found:

- 3 positions with Loma Linda;

- 3 positions with Kaiser;

- 1 position with Prime Healthcare Management;

- 1 position at the Women's Prison in Corona;

- 1 position with VA Loma Linda;

- 1 position with County of Riverside;

- 1 position with Maxim Healthcare Services;

- 1 position with Aerotek Scientific;

- 1 position with Kelly Healthcare Resources;

- 1 position with ResCare;

- 1 position with David and Margaret Youth & Family Services;

- 1 position with NurseFinders;

and all of the above were posted within the last 5 days. Total in their database for my usual search area (25 miles from la casita & closer) gives a list of 235 available positions.

Over on Craigslist I found 135 LVN positions posted - some of those are out there aways (one is in Blythe, for example) and a fair amount have been sitting out there awhile - but, always worth a follow-up.

Failing that, there's always the LTC route; hit the Medicare website, get a list of nursing homes off their database & start cold calling.

It's not exactly raining soup - but far from terminal.
