Hi has anyone applied to the LVN program and if so do you know what the cutoff score was for last year?
yes we are registered already, 17 credit hrs, basically class or clinical every day except Fridays until the week of October 21 then we have clinical on Friday's too. Life is about to get really busy. But I'm ready, I'm super excited now that I see the classes actually in my lonestar It's official we are no longer pre-nursing students we have crossed over. We are now nursing students.
Hello all,
Will any of you be starting the LVN program at lone star Cy Fair this Fall? I just completed this program last week and can answer any questions you may have. There is A LOT to take with not very clear instruction so allow me to offer any insight if I can. I strongly encourage you to ask away and save yourself a headache or two. Best of luck to you all!

Hello,
Thanks for inquiring. My goal is to be as much help as I can because you all have a busy year ahead of you. I will stay on the surface with any info I provide on AN, but I have created a dummy email account for you all to email more particular questions that could be beneficial in alleviating any anxiety and your success in the classroom. In fact, I would prefer contact be made through that email account to avoid any issues with AN. Feel free to email at [email protected].
A lot of info will be thrown at you throughout the whole program, don't freak out. Organization is key next to taking good notes, especially in nutrition, health and illness, and gerontology. This program is a major adjustment if you are not a "school" person. Study often and take advantage of the free time built into the schedule for the first couple of months. Make it a personal goal to score high on all of your exams all the time but particularly early in the semester to help buffer any unwanted grades you may get later in the semester. Playing catch up with your grades at the end of the semester adds way more stress. Trust me on that.
I am not sure what color your scrubs will be but I am willing to guess they will recommend cherokee brand. I got mine from The Med Shop - Serving Northwest Houston Quality, Affordable Medical Supplies and Scrubs. The address is on the website, and I went to the actual location to try on scrubs. Scrub sizes are kind of weird so it would be a good idea to do that yourself. You can buy your patches at the campus bookstore and have it sewed on at a local cleaners or tailor for pretty cheap. Your shoes will need to be all white so get them where you can for as cheap as you can. I also got a stethoscope from med shop plus. Top of the line is not necessary. Mine worked out all year and it was the cheapest they had.
Find a method of studying and organizing that works for you and go for it. I have to emphasize the importance of those two. Last minute efforts will get you no where because everything you learn will be an extension of what you learned just prior. The faster you can connect the dots the easier it will be to integrate new info.
Im not sure how helpful any of that was but I thought I would throw out some general information to get you started. Send your specific questions to the email above and I will do my best to help out the best way I can.

I was registered last night and I'm looking at my schedule and it's an awful lot, I thought I would be able to work full time for at least the first semester but I'm now rethinking that entire plan.
