In order to sit for the NCLEX-PN in New York you need to graduate from a practical nursing program (not a registered professional nursing program).
The only way you could work as an LPN is if you are licensed (having completed a practical nursing program, passed any background or other requirements from the board of nursing) and passed the NCLEX-PN.
Why not invest your time in an NCLEX-RN review course?

Thanks for the info, and yeah i am investing again in the RN review course, and ill be taking my exam again in a couple of weeks, i just wanted to know because my relatives talked to me about the option of LVN and so that i could work at the hospital, but my friends who are also in the same boat as me who have yet to pass the NCLEX were studying ass well for the retake, they say that if we were going to end up being an RN why not just keep taking the RN exam. and Thanks again.
Very few East Coast hospitals hire LPN's to work in acute care so even if you could sit for the NCLEX-PN it wouldn't help you gain hospital employment.
