LVN to BSN ISU help!!!

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hello everyone I just graduated from LVN school this past semester and am really looking into a RN BSN program. I feel like it will take me forever :( to be a RN. The only prereqs I have completed are Psych, Human growth and development, Nutrition and thats about it as far as the prereqs for this program. I plan on taking English 1, 2, Chemistry, Micro, Anatomy and Physio at the local community college so I can also apply for a local non degree RN program in CA just in case. I am feeling so discouraged and I feel like it will take me soooo long to finish. Im 23 and I don't think I'll have my RN until im 30. Has anyone done this program and how long did it take you? I also heard it usually does take along time for people to become nurses- so maybe 30 won't be so bad, I hope. Any advice on the prereqs or encouragement please :uhoh3:!! (also I already spoke to TCN and don't plan on going through them, but purchasing books myself)

Have you looked into setting up your clinical experiences? If you are in the greater Sacramento area, you should have the advantage of that being the area where this program was started in CA. Otherwise, the rest of the state does not have clinical sites available. Check out the list of clinical site agreements on the ISU website.

I have tried to find that list of clinical site agreements at ISU's site and can't. Can you post the link to that list? I sent two emails and recieved vague replies that lead me to believe there are no sites in my area(sonoma county). They do have two sites in Socal(inland empire area). Thanks.
